Hello everyone! I've been showing this blog to some friends of mine and they were very pleased in how well it's developing. I know it's no where near it's completion but it does show a lot of promise. As my projects are still in the making I won't be able to come with updates on a regular basis, but I'll try to reach my goal of at least three a month. So that means no pics this time. On another note, a friend of mine asked what 'Zettai Mugen' or for that fact 'Mugen' means. Actually when I chose it I didn't know either. I thought it was a cool sounding name to go with. I came up with the nick when I was playing online racinggames. As I'm a fan of Motorports, primarly of the single seater category (most famous of all is Formula 1), I happened to hear the name 'Mugen' mentioned a couple of times. It's the name of a Japanese company primarly known for it's customization and tuning of HONDA engines. The same brand made famous in the F1 by the late Ayrton Senna (If you wanna know more of the history of the tuningcompany, sport or driver you can look it up on Wiki(-pedia)). But later on in life when I seriously began investing time in illustrating I needed an identity to go with. So one day when I was racing online out of frustration of being 'nameless', I prompted 'mugen' in the screen and sudddenly I realized...Hey! That's It! Being curious about it I wanted to know what it meant exactly. First I thought it was the name of a short Japanese blade. I was thinking when I won a race online something like, 'Yeah! I'm Bad-Ass! don't mess with the Blade!' (Yeah, I know it's stupid). But when I prompted it in Google I found a deeper meaning to it. So for all you 'Wannaknowits', this is what Wiki says about the word; 'Mugen is a word of Japanese origin, meaning DREAM, FANTASY (夢幻), or INFINITE (無限)'. I was thinking;'Yeah Totally!', and that's exactly what 'zettai' means...absolutly, definitely or totally! So there you have it guys, enjoy!

Hey everyone! This next piece was used for promotional purposes. It could be used for posters, bookcovers or any variety of media for that matter. I especially like the colour scheme chosen for this project which gives it a very warm and nostalgic feel. The client came up with this concept of two hands trying to form a heart. The significance of the 'open' hands was very important because of the slogan which in English would read "open your friendship!".
I tried to design as close to this concept as I could and this was the result.
Hey guys! Mugen back. Ocassionally I'll do some logowork and the two pieces shown her were done for another client of mine.

They were made in a very early stage and one of these would be the basis for the eventual design. But I like both designs so I thought I would show them both.

Another logo that I designed was for the company 'ODEEZ' wich specializes in women's fashion. They also provide workshops and other services. You can check out the design on their site in the 'affiliation' links below. later!

Hey guys! Mugen's here with another update. This is a piece I've done for a great client of mine who used my services on many projects. It just goes to show how diverse my style can be, but also shows how closely I can get to the wishes of the client. I've done a series starring this cute couple and it's being used for promotional purposes for a well known local university in The Hague. Enjoy!
